Aleix Pérez Pitarch, a Spanish national, is a lawyer admitted to practice in both Spain and New York, trained in civil law and common law jurisdictions, and who specializes in arbitration and civil and commercial law.


Professional Experience

Aleix Pérez Pitarch is an associate at Armesto & Asociados, a boutique of arbitrators with an international and independent profile and a good business sense, founded by Juan Fernández-Armesto.

Aleix joined Armesto & Asociados in 2022, where he acts as secretary and assistant to arbitral tribunals in arbitration proceedings, including international, ad hoc and administered arbitrations involving both commercial and investment disputes. Most of the cases are administered by ICC, ICSID, PCA and Spanish or Latin America arbitral institutions. As to ad hoc arbitrations, most of them are subject to the UNCITRAL Rules.

Before joining Armesto & Asociados, Aleix worked for five years as an associate at the litigation and arbitration team of Garrigues (Barcelona), where he represented national and international clients in court proceedings. Previously, in 2015 he interned at the Barcelona and London offices of Clifford Chance, working in the litigation and international arbitration departments. Aleix began his legal career with a clerkship at the Preliminary Criminal Investigations Courts of Barcelona.

Education

Aleix Pérez Pitarch holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Esade Law School (2011-2015), where he was awarded different scholarships for the duration of the entire program due to his outstanding academic performance, and where he graduated with one of the best academic records of his class. During his law degree, Aleix completed an exchange program at the University of Pennsylvania Law School (Philadelphia, USA).

Between 2015 and 2016, Aleix pursued a Master of Legal Practice at Esade Law School, whose specialization in International Business Law he completed at the Center for Transnational Legal Studies (London, United Kingdom), a center for the study of transnational law founded by Georgetown University Law Center.

In 2022 Aleix obtained an LL.M. (Master of Laws) at Harvard Law School, fully funded by a postgraduate scholarship from “la Caixa” Foundation, where he specialized in international arbitration and international law and wrote his thesis under the supervision of Prof. Philippe Sands, KC.
